About Us & Our By Laws
The name of our organization is the USS Bon Homme Richard Shipmates Association. This is an association of shipmates who served on board the Aircraft Carrier USS Bon Homme Richard CV / CVA 31 and the Aircraft Carrier USS Bon Homme Richard LHD-6.
Our purpose through this Association is to preserve our ships' place in naval history and afford opportunities of communication, recreation and to perpetuate the camaraderie that developed among the men and women who served aboard these proud ships. This Association is non-profit, non-sectarian and non-political. We are filed under the IRS Tax Code 501 (c) 19.
The Association was founded by Ralph Pound in 1985.
